Aurati explores one of Murano glassmaking's most expressive combinations: intense colour, textured glass and gold.
The centerpiece pairs polished red glass with 24k gold leaf, creating a surface that changes as light moves across it. Rather than appearing flat or uniform, the colour gains depth through the interaction between the red glass, metallic reflections and textured surface.
Texture That Changes the Light
Aurati incorporates both rigadin detailing and the traditional ballotton texture. These patterns introduce rhythm into the glass and create multiple surfaces for light to meet, reflect and refract.
The effect gives the centerpiece visual interest from every angle. Seen from across a room, its red-and-gold palette creates an immediate focal point; viewed more closely, the texture and individual details of the handmade glass become more apparent.
