Bamboo Vase: Hand-Carved Murano Glass with a Satin Finish
Bamboo is defined as much by its surface as by its form.
Standing 60 cm high with a slender 10 cm diameter, the vase creates a strong vertical line. Its elongated proportions give it an architectural quality, while the carved matte surface softens the way light interacts with the glass.
Carved by Hand
After the Murano glass has been formed, Bamboo undergoes additional work in Wave's cold shop. Its surface is carved by hand using a diamond-plated wheel, producing the sculpted detailing that distinguishes the vase.
This process changes both how the glass looks and how it feels. Instead of the uninterrupted reflections associated with highly polished glass, Bamboo has a satin finish that diffuses light across its carved surface and emphasizes texture.
The technique also introduces the individuality inherent in work executed by hand: the surface is not simply a mechanically repeated pattern.
A Tall Accent for Contemporary Spaces
Bamboo is available in a restrained palette of Matte Fumè, Matte Green and Matte Topaz, alongside Green/Topaz and Amethyst/Fumè combinations.
These subdued colours complement the satin surface and make the vase particularly effective in interiors built around natural materials, neutral tones or minimal architecture.
Its narrow footprint allows the 60 cm vase to introduce height without occupying a large horizontal area. Display it on its own as a sculptural glass object, position it on a console or low cabinet, or use it to create vertical contrast within a larger arrangement.
Bamboo expresses Murano glass through texture rather than brilliance—a tactile, hand-carved object whose quiet surface rewards a closer look.
